Paarl Labels has recently relocated to more modern and spacious premises, designed around the company’s specific needs. Paarl Labels also acquired a new state of the art press, the MPS EF430 mm, which will assist in responding to the needs of the market for reduced lead times, while maintaining premium quality.
Paarl Labels is part of the Paarl Media Group, one of 12 printing operations nationwide. The new premises serve as the first phase of the growth and expansion of Paarl Labels, with the MPS EF430 mm press as the second development phase. This is a fully servo-driven UV flexo press, configured with eight colours, double die cut station, cold foil on rails, inline slitting and sheeting.
Additional features include a mark-to-mark automatic register system that ensures the register is held within more or less 0.1 mm. This automatic system also ensures the best possible print quality at any running speed, while reducing setup time and wastage. Paarl Labels furthermore plans to acquire a 430mm wide servo driven rewinder, with 100% web inspection to complement the MPS EF430 mm press and reaffirm the commitment to quality and technology.
Luke Papadopoulos, managing director for Paarl Labels, says, “Wine producers can expect consistently high quality, as well as attractive, environmentally responsible and innovative product labelling.
“Our two UV flexo MPS presses have proven extremely effective and Rotocon, the service provider, has delivered reliable service and support. We are pleased to invest in a third high-quality MPS press line to further drive innovation and expand our capacity and ability to offer faster turnaround times of high quality, self-adhesive labels,” he explains.
According to Luke, Paarl Labels continues to offer a wide range of finishing options. These include inline hot foiling, cold foiling, screen printing, laminating, embossing, UV varnish, die-cutting, back printing and security holograms.
“Finely crafted labels are a result of truly understanding our customers and investing in the best technology. The outcome is a final consumer product that is a unique blend of art and skill,” he says.
“The relocation has had a positive impact on business and customers. Paarl Labels will continue to build on this momentum and grow the business with this new press, while further positioning the Paarl Media Group as leaders in the printing industry,” Luke concludes.
